Hedge trimming in Melbourne's outer east

Give your garden a neater outline with hedge trimming and suitable light pruning, assessed on site for your property.

A considered trim for your garden

Send photos showing the full hedge, its height and the access around it. Let Toby know the shape or result you have in mind. The scope is assessed before quoting so the work is suitable for the plants and can be carried out with appropriate access.

What we'll take on

We trim common garden hedges and do light pruning that can be reached safely from the ground. A formal outline, a simple flat top and sides, or a lighter tidy to take the new growth back are all possible, depending on the plant.

We won't use an unstable ladder, lean over a drop, or cut a hedge that needs climbing gear or a tree crew. If a hedge is too tall or the access is too tight, we'll say so before anything is booked. Point out power lines, a shared fence, and any plant you want left alone.

Through the growing season

A lot of hedges in the outer east flush in spring and again after summer rain. A trim after that growth holds the shape. Some formal hedges look better with two lighter cuts than one hard one. We'll talk about timing once we've seen the hedge.

Need regular trims through the growing season? Ask about regular care. Every 5th regular visit is free. Book mowing or gardening at least every 3 weeks and your 5th regular visit is on us. It's our thank you for sticking with KinForth.

Applies to mowing and gardening customers booked at least every 3 weeks. The free visit is capped at the average cost of your last 4 visits, and tip fees and materials are still charged. An earned free visit must be used within 30 days or it's forfeited.

The clippings

Even a light trim makes more green waste than people expect. We can leave it piled for your green bin, or take it away as green waste removal. Removal is quoted on its own so the disposal cost is clear before you go ahead.

A few helpful details

Questions about hedge trimming

How hard can you cut a hedge back?

It depends on the plant. Some hedges cope with a hard cut into older wood. Others should only lose the soft growth. We'll say what yours can take before we start, rather than cutting first and hoping.

Do I need to be home?

Not always. We need a way in, pets secured, and a phone number if something on site doesn't match the quote. We'll agree that with you when we book the visit.

Can you trim a hedge on the boundary?

Often, from your side. If the only sensible access is through a neighbour's place, you'll need to arrange that before the visit. We won't step onto someone else's property unless that's already sorted.
